RICS Building Survey
The RICS Building Survey (formerly called a structural survey) is ideal for properties in need of renovation, concerns on visual defects, non-standard-construction, older or listed buildings. It costs more than the other RICS report because it gives detailed information about the structure and fabric of the property.
The RICS Building Survey uses the same traffic light ratings as the HomeBuyer Report. It also includes:
- A more thorough inspection and detailed report on a wider range of issues.
- A description of visible defects and potential problems caused by hidden flaws.
- An outline of repair options and the likely consequences of inactivity.
- Advice for your legal advisers and details of serious risks and dangerous conditions.
Overall this survey provides a comprehensive report on a property’s true condition and details any visual defects. This gives buyers the information to gain further advice, if required, on future repairs and maintenance and ultimately, the information needed to help make a reasoned decision on whether to go ahead with a purchase.
With Gausden-Lane, we also include a free of charge consultation following any report to discuss it and any questions clients may have. All reports are written in plain English and will give a balanced view so that clients fully understand the condition of the property. For more information or to discuss your surveying needs, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
